He was also involved in a dispute with Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. In response, the BCCI lodged a complaint with the ICC, which may require the players to provide written explanations.
Concurrently, the PCB filed a complaint against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav for his remarks after India’s victory over Pakistan in the group stage, where he dedicated the win to the Indian Army and victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. Suryakumar stated that regardless of mixed reactions, he would continue to dedicate future wins similarly.
