Your film ‘Kantha’ and your performance received a great response. How did that make you feel? —I was very happy. The audience acknowledged my potential as an actress and their response was incredible. This is just the beginning. What can you tell us about your character in ‘Andhra King’? —I will portray Mahalakshmi, a college student in love with Sagar. I can’t reveal much more about her character at this time, but her role is crucial to the story and will resonate with viewers. What did you find appealing when Mahesh shared this story with you? —Admiration is a profound emotion.
Coming to the South from the North, I experienced the intense affection fans have for their stars, which is remarkable. I often wondered how such deep admiration could exist without personal connections. After Mahesh narrated the story, I found the answer. Do you share any scenes with Upendra? —Yes, I have a scene with him. He is incredibly humble and down-to-earth, making it a pleasure to work with him. How unique is the love story between Sagar and Mahalakshmi? —The love story is very pure. The songs convey heartfelt emotions, establishing a deep connection. How was your experience acting alongside Ram? —Working with Ram garu was fantastic. He is a highly energetic performer, and I believe I matched his energy.
The dialogues and love story are truly beautiful, and Ram garu brings such positivity. What is your favorite song from the film? —The album has received an excellent response. While I enjoy all the songs, my favorite is definitely ‘Tunu’. Since this is a period film, what considerations were made regarding costumes? —The story is set in the year 2000, and the director paid great attention to costumes and artwork. Is there a challenging scene in the film? —Yes, there is a significant scene. The director explained his vision to me, and I asked him to demonstrate his desired performance. Everyone appreciated my execution, and I felt grateful for the creative freedom.
How was your experience working with Mythri Movie Makers? —Ravi garu and Naveen garu were the first producers I met, and I have always wanted to collaborate with them. It was a joy to work with them on this film. They are passionate and produced the film without compromise. What was the shooting experience like? —We shot in Rajahmundry, where it was quite hot, but we enjoyed collaborating as a team. There are remarkable actors in this movie, including Tulsi garu, Rao Ramesh garu, and Murali Sharma garu. I learned a lot from them, especially from Rao Ramesh garu’s outstanding performance. Rahul’s character is also commendable. What types of characters would you like to portray in the future?
—I am uncertain about the stories that will be written for me, but I aim to give my all to every role and establish a reputation as a versatile actress. I truly admire the roles Anushka garu played in ‘Arundhati’ and hope to land similar opportunities.
