In Patna, a 31-year-old Bhojpuri singer has accused actor Amarendra Pratap Singh of rape, claiming that he exploited and assaulted her throughout their five-year live-in relationship. She reported that she met Amarendra during stage performances and they subsequently began cohabiting. “He always promised to marry me. I believed him,” she stated. However, when she began pressing him about marriage, his demeanor changed, leading him to threaten and mistreat her. According to her complaint, the actor employed casteist slurs, harassed her, and even slapped her publicly at Patna Junction after she declined to continue their relationship. “He wouldn’t let me travel or perform freely,” she claimed.
The victim also asserted that Amarendra made threats to kill her on multiple occasions, specifically on April 15, June 21, and July 18 of this year. She initially filed a complaint at the women’s police station in Patna on June 21, but no FIR was filed. After numerous requests to the SC/ST police station and the SSP’s office went unanswered, she took her case to court. Following a court order, the SC/ST police station finally registered her case. Station Officer Rajkumar confirmed this, stating: “The case has been lodged based on the court order. An investigation is underway, and appropriate action will follow.”
