Bengaluru, May 13 (). Congress candidate from Bellary Rural B. Nagendra told State Health Minister B.K. He has taken a lead of 20,163 votes against Sriramulu, who is considered a prominent Dalit face of the BJP. Sriramulu got 27,767 votes and Nagendra got 47,930 votes. BJP leaders had also talked about giving an important post to Sriramulu and making him the Deputy Chief Minister.
According to sources, the work done by Nagendra during Kovid has earned him the support of the people.
The setback meted out to Sriramulu is being seen as a clear indication of the mood of the oppressed classes.
