Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday pledged to transform Bihar into a center for the ‘Make in India’ initiative and emphasized that only the double-engine government led by Nitish Kumar could facilitate this change, contrasting it with the Opposition’s ‘jungle raj.’ While addressing a public rally in Arrah, PM Modi remarked that ‘Make in India’ is gaining global momentum, stating, “Our objective for Bihar is to become a focal point of this significant mission.” He highlighted the improvement in Bihar’s fisheries sector, noting that the state has shifted from importing fish to selling it to other states, a change attributed to the NDA government’s policies.
The Prime Minister asserted that the NDA’s manifesto focuses on empowering and uplifting Bihar, declaring, “The NDA has put forth a sincere and forward-thinking manifesto for Bihar’s development. Each promise and plan is aimed at the rapid advancement of the state.” He criticized the internal conflicts within the Mahagathbandhan, stating, “On one side is the NDA’s truthful manifesto, and on the other are those associated with jungle raj. They have turned their manifesto into a collection of falsehoods, deceit, and distractions for the public.” PM Modi pointed out that the rivalry between the RJD and Congress has intensified, asserting that the people of Bihar cannot expect any positive outcomes from them as they are preoccupied with self-interest.
He noted, “Neither was Congress acknowledged in the manifesto, nor are they being considered in the campaigning. Even before the elections, animosity has escalated to the point that post-elections, they will likely turn against each other.” Additionally, PM Modi discussed significant improvements in residents’ lives due to the ‘Bihar Dairy Mission’ and reiterated the NDA’s commitment to creating job opportunities within Bihar. “We have promised the creation of one crore jobs in the upcoming years, and the strategy for achieving this has been presented to the public,” he stated, reaffirming the pledges detailed in the NDA manifesto. He emphasized that the NDA is dedicated to ensuring the youth of Bihar find employment within the state to enhance its prestige.
Furthermore, he announced that the new NDA government would increase financial support under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, raising the annual entitlement for farmers from Rs 6,000 to an additional Rs 3,000.
