The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made new allegations against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, asserting that he is misusing funds from the Punjab government to construct an opulent bungalow in Chandigarh. The Delhi BJP and AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal shared aerial photographs on X, describing the property located in Sector 2, Chandigarh, as a “7-star, two-acre government mansion” allegedly allotted from the quota of the Punjab chief minister. The BJP referred to Kejriwal as the “Super CM of Punjab,” claiming that the AAP leader, who positions himself as a man of the people, has built another “Sheesh Mahal” after leaving his controversial residence in Delhi.
Maliwal further accused Kejriwal of utilizing Punjab government aircraft for personal and party-related travel, asserting that the entire administration of Punjab operates to serve his interests. In response, AAP dismissed these accusations, asserting that the BJP is disseminating misinformation due to frustration following recent controversies surrounding the Prime Minister’s statements about the Yamuna. The party clarified that the image shared by the BJP actually shows the Punjab CM’s official camp office, not Kejriwal’s private residence. This situation mirrors prior controversies regarding alleged irregular constructions at Kejriwal’s Delhi home on Flag Staff Road, where BJP leaders accused him of misappropriating government property and violating building regulations to create a lavish residence.
