Leader of Opposition Dr. Singh gave a controversial statement regarding Rani Kamalapati. He said that these people (BJP) are trying to bring monarchy in democracy. They are searching for people whose names we haven’t even heard. Naming the railway station of Bhopal after Rani Kamalapati is an example of this.
Regarding this statement of Dr. Singh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, I am surprised that Congress knows only one name, only one name is Gandhi family, Nehru family. Apart from that family, there was no great man at all.
He further said, I am surprised that Rani Kamlapati was the last Hindu ruler of Bhopal, she was a Gond queen, she was self-respecting, she was going to die for her religion. He gave good governance and when he felt that Dost Mohammad Khan’s army would win by deceit, he took water samadhi in a small pond here. The echo of his sacrifice is heard even today in the water of this small pond and the big pond.
Attacking the Chief Minister, the Chief Minister said, those who chant the name of only one family, at least do not insult our pride, the pride of tribal brothers and sisters, the female queen Kamalapati. You haven’t done anything in his name. Today the government of the Bharatiya Janata Party is doing it, so it is suffering. Madam Sonia Gandhi should answer. Does she know Rani Kamalapati, is this the view of the Congress?
Bharatiya Janata Party State President Vishnudutt Sharma said that the statement given by Leader of Opposition Govind Singh about Rani Kamalapati is unfortunate. Due to this, the tribal society has been insulted. He said that why the Congress is getting pain in the stomach due to the honor being given to the tribal legends in the BJP governments. The statement of the Leader of Opposition shows the anti-tribal mentality of the Congress and the deceit done by the Congress with the tribals over the years. Congress should immediately apologize to the entire tribal society.
Describing the statement of the Leader of the Opposition as an insult to the entire tribal society, BJP’s state spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sumer Singh Solanki said that this statement exposes the anti-tribal mentality of the Congress. Congress should apologize to the entire tribal society for his statement and immediately remove the Leader of Opposition Govind Singh from the post.
