Samajwadi Party Leader Suggests BJP May Oust Nitish Kumar Soon

Patna: Samajwadi Party veteran Mata Prasad Pandey, the opposition leader in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, has asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might remove Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from his position ‘in a few days.’ During an event commemorating the birth anniversary of former UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, Pandey launched a strong critique against the ruling BJP administrations in both Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. He claimed that the BJP’s governance model is fundamentally based on a Hindutva-first approach, cautioning that the party seeks to transform India into ‘a nation where there will be no equality.’ He stated, ‘The government’s policies do not focus on reducing unemployment. Their sole slogan is Hindutva…

They intend to govern under the banner of Hindutva and mislead the populace through religious practices.’ In response to inquiries regarding the appointment of BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary, currently the deputy chief minister of Bihar, as the state’s new home minister, Pandey suggested that this move signifies emerging political maneuvering. ‘Designating Samrat Chaudhary as Home Minister is their internal decision and may have been made as part of a pact,’ he remarked.

Pandey further commented, ‘We believe he (Nitish Kumar) may be removed in a few days.’ These statements follow the National Democratic Alliance’s significant win in the Bihar Assembly elections, where they secured 202 out of 243 seats, enabling Nitish Kumar to take the oath for an unprecedented 10th term as chief minister. Pandey, a former Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, accused the BJP of neglecting essential governance matters. He contended that unemployment, public education, and healthcare have been sidelined while the party emphasizes cultural and religious messages. ‘The BJP government is not addressing the issues of unemployment, education, and health,’ he said.

‘They are exclusively focused on transforming our country into a nation devoid of equality by advancing the Hindutva agenda.’
