Ahmedabad, May 4 (). A packet of hashish, weighing a little over a kilogram, was recovered in a joint search operation carried out by troops of 102 Battalion Border Security Force (BSF) and Narcotics Intelligence Unit (NIU) on Wednesday. The hashish was recovered from an isolated spot near Ibrahim Peer, about 15 km off the Jakhau coast in Gujarat, an official said.
The latest seizures are part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the region. A total of 29 packets of hashish have been recovered from the Jakhau coast since mid-April 2023.
The collaborative efforts between BSF and NIU have been instrumental in disrupting the illegal drug trade and stopping the flow of narcotics in the region.
The officers of both 102 Bn BSF and NIU expressed their commitment to continue working together to dismantle the drug trafficking network and nab those responsible for these illegal activities.
Investigation is underway to trace the source of recovered hashish and identify the persons involved in drug trade.
