Rourkela: A collision involving a truck and a passenger bus in Sundargarh district resulted in the deaths of six individuals on Thursday. The incident took place on National Highway 520 in the Balang area when the bus, en route from Rourkela to Koida, took a wrong turn due to ongoing road repairs. “Five individuals died at the scene, while one more succumbed to injuries later. At least ten others sustained critical injuries,” stated DIG Brijesh Kumar Rai of the Western Range. Local police and fire service teams were involved in the rescue efforts. “The critically injured were transported to a government hospital in Rourkela, while others received treatment at health centers in Koida and Lahunipada,” the DIG reported.
