Lucknow, March 30 (). Lucknow Police has registered a case against AIMIM leader Uzma Parveen for offering Namaz at Hussainganj Metro station.
The matter came to light after an AIMIM leader posted a picture on Twitter.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Aparna Rajat Kaushik said that Uzma had wrongly shown the place of offering prayers as Vidhan Bhawan, which is misleading.
Last year, a video showing eight people offering namaz inside a major mall went viral on social media days after the international chain outlet was inaugurated.
Later all of them were arrested.
Kaushik said that Uzma offered namaz at the metro station and later tweeted that anyone is free to offer namaz at any place as he is free to express his views.
The DCP said, Uzma has been booked under IPC section 153A (promoting enmity), IPC section 200 (giving false information) and IPC section 283 (obstructing public way).
