Chaitanyanand Saraswati, accused of sexually harassing 17 students at a private institution, was confronted on Tuesday with two female aides who allegedly intimidated victims and coerced them into deleting his inappropriate messages, according to a police officer. Investigators discovered numerous chats with several women on the phone of the 62-year-old Saraswati, who reportedly attempted to entice them with false promises. His devices also contained various photographs with air hostesses and screenshots of women’s display pictures, the officer revealed. This self-proclaimed godman purportedly engaged in his criminal activities while serving as the chairperson of a nationally recognized private institute.
The officer noted that Saraswati is not cooperating with the investigation and continues to mislead the interrogators, showing no regret for his actions and providing evasive responses. His two female associates, employed in various roles at the institute, are being interrogated and confronted with him as part of the investigation. Police indicated that Saraswati has consistently lied during questioning, even when presented with evidence. He only responds, albeit reluctantly, when shown documents and digital evidence. Additionally, he was taken to the institute’s campus on Monday to identify locations where he called his victims. Saraswati was apprehended at a hotel in Agra on Sunday after evading capture for several days.
