Patna, May 16 (). A Class III student in Bihar’s Darbhanga was brutally thrashed on Monday by a school official allegedly because he forgot to wear socks. Police gave this information.
The victim had bruises and swelling on her left cheek. The victim’s mother Sujatha Kumari, who is also a Zilla Parishad member, lodged an FIR against the school director.
The incident is of Notre Dame International School located in Bhairopatti village of Bahadurpur police station area.
Bahadurpur police station SHO Mukesh Kumar Mandal said, “We have received a complaint against Manoj Kumar, director of Notre Dame International School, from the victim’s mother Sujata Kumari.” She alleged that her 9-year-old son Priyanshu was mercilessly thrashed by Kumar after he did not wear socks to school. Due to the brutal attack, Priyanshu’s left cheek got swollen.
He said, as per the statement of the student, he was getting late to reach school in the morning and hence forgot to wear socks. School teacher Arvind Kumar checked the school uniform and his socks were missing. He took Priyanshu in front of Manoj Kumar, who brutally beat him up.
We are probing the matter and action will be taken accordingly, Mandal said.
