Coal India’s subsidiaries set for potential listing

New Delhi: On Friday, Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy announced that a market study is in progress regarding the listing of Coal India’s subsidiaries, BCCL and CMPDI, and that their listing will occur at the appropriate time. Several months ago, Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL) and Coal Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI) submitted a draft red herring prospectus to the capital markets regulator SEBI, as well as to the BSE and NSE, for their planned initial public offering. Speaking to reporters during the inauguration of the mines ministry pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF), the minister stated: “We are conducting a market study and will proceed with the listing at the right time.

Consulting agencies and our experts are performing this study, and we will act based on their recommendations.” The minister also mentioned that he reviewed the performance of all public sector undertakings in the coal industry on Thursday.
