Jaipur, May 20 (). Kota City Superintendent of Police Sharad Chowdhary was on Saturday summoned in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate for not registering a case against Congress in-charge of Rajasthan Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa for making a statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, despite a court order.

BJP MLA Madan Dilawar had filed a complaint against Randhawa. His lawyer Manoj Puri said that the SP had orally said that there was political pressure on him, so he had sought more time. However, the court has now directed Choudhary to file an FIR against Randhawa and submit the report in the court by 12 noon on May 23.

According to the complaint filed by Dilawar, on March 13, at a party meeting in Jaipur, Randhawa targeted the prime minister for his alleged links with Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani.

According to Dilawar’s lawyer Manoj Puri, Randhawa reportedly said, “If Modi is finished, the country will be saved, otherwise the country will be ruined.”

Meanwhile, a monitoring petition was presented in the court on behalf of the circle inspector of Mahavir Nagar police station, in which an appeal has been made to stay the order of the lower court.

Puri said, this is the first time that circle inspectors are presenting surveillance petitions instead of filing reports. In March, a complaint was lodged against Randhawa at the Mahavir Nagar police station, but the police did not register a case. After this, the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate in Kota has sought a report from SP Chaudhary by May 10.

In the report submitted by the SP, it was told that Randhawa had given a speech in Jaipur, hence the case could not be registered in Kota.

After hearing the arguments, the court said on May 15 that Randhawa’s speech in Jaipur had an impact on Kota as well as the entire country. Then the court ordered the SP and Circle Inspector to file an FIR and present the investigation report of the case.
