Fan Celebrations Amid Controversy
Karnataka, 12 December 2025 | Public curiosity was heightened as Darshan remains in jail following his arrest in June 2024 for allegedly murdering his fan, Renukaswamy. The actor was briefly released on bail to complete filming. Fans gathered outside theatres, where large cutouts of Darshan were ceremoniously bathed in milk, and biryani was distributed in celebration.

Darshan’s family, including his wife Vijayalakshmi, son Vineesh, and brother Dinakar Thoogudeepa, attended a local theatre to witness the audience’s reaction to ‘Devil’. The film features Darshan in a dual role alongside Rachana Rai as the female lead, promising an engaging cinematic experience.
