SRINAGAR: Security forces have demolished the residence of Dr. Umar Nabi, the driver of the explosive-laden vehicle involved in the Delhi blast, in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials reported on Friday. The demolition took place during the night between Thursday and Friday. The car explosion near the Red Fort on Monday night resulted in 13 fatalities and numerous injuries. Umar was identified as the driver of the Hyundai i20 packed with explosives. His identity was established after DNA samples taken from the blast site matched those of Dr. Umar’s mother.
Known for his academic achievements, Umar reportedly became radicalized in the last two years, according to investigators, who noted his involvement in various radical messaging groups on social media.
