On Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated multiple Chhath ghats in the Laxmi Nagar area of east Delhi, declaring that this year’s festival will be celebrated with unprecedented grandeur. She criticized the opposition AAP, accusing its leaders of spreading falsehoods. The AAP has been vocal in its criticism of the BJP government concerning the city’s Chhath preparations. Gupta emphasized that this year’s Chhath will be more beautiful than ever, stating, “Those posting videos (on social media) to find fault with our work may say anything but we are not bothered by it.” She further claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party had wasted 11 years in power without making any significant contributions to Delhi’s development.
“Spreading lies and propaganda is their habit. But the BJP government fulfills its promises. It has been just 8 months so far, and a lot of work is yet to be done,” Gupta remarked while inaugurating a Chhath Ghat in Laxmi Nagar, which was built at a cost of Rs 70 lakh. Gupta also inspected festival preparations and opened two additional Chhath Ghats in the Dwarka area. “We are preparing 1500 Chhath ghats across the city, and several kilometers of stretches at 17 points along the Yamuna bank are being developed for the celebrations,” she added.
Delhi’s Social Welfare Minister, Ravinder Indraj Singh, also carried out a thorough inspection of the Chhath preparations, visiting various ghats in the North-West Delhi region.
