New Delhi, April 16 (). The Special Cell of Delhi Police has said that it has arrested three people, including two arms suppliers and one recipient. Police said the gang provided 300 guns to criminals from Punjab.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell (Southern Range) Alok Kumar said that the accused have been identified as Rajinder alias Raju, Narendra Singh alias Neetu alias Safera and Pradeep Singh.
A senior police officer said 21 pistols and an Etios car used to carry the firearms were recovered from their possession. The recovered firearms were to be supplied to criminals and arms smugglers in Delhi and Punjab.
The police officer said, Inspector Ranjit Singh Satwinder, ACP Attar Singh received a tip-off about the gang members and formed a team to nab them. A specific information was received that Rajinder and Pradeep had procured a consignment of pistols from Madhya Pradesh and had brought them. In Delhi, in his Etios car, he was about to supply it to an arms smuggler from Punjab near Modi Mills flyover. A trap was laid and they were captured. Neetu was also caught when he came to meet them.
Neetu was earlier arrested in Patiala, Punjab in a highway robbery and Arms Act case.
The accused have so far supplied more than 300 pistols.
