New Delhi, May 2 (). The Delhi High Court on Monday asked the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Intelligence Directorate to consider whether a book written by a former Air Force officer can be published after redacting certain classified material or parts of it. removed.
Justice Pratibha M. Singh, after hearing a petition seeking permission to publish the book of retired Air Force officer, directed that a meeting be held between the petitioner and the authorities concerned within a month and also sought a report on it.
After hearing the matter in detail, the court fixed the date of October 20 for the next hearing.
According to the respondent authorities, the contents of the book are prejudicial to the interests of the Indian Air Force. Hence, the publication cannot be permitted as per IAF rules.
The court ordered that the petitioner be heard by the officers of the Indian Air Force and the Intelligence Directorate to ascertain the possibility whether the book can be published after the material has been amended or deleted.
The petitioner is a former Group Captain.
