New Delhi, May 23 (). The Delhi Police has arrested a 30-year-old man from Punjab for allegedly harassing a woman and uploading her objectionable photographs along with her mobile number on a social media platform. A Delhi Police officer gave this information on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Amandeep Kumar, a resident of Kapurthala in Punjab. The official said that Kumar had a habit of watching sexual content online and was unemployed.
According to the police, a 24-year-old woman had lodged the complaint. In the complaint, the woman had said that someone had created a fake ID on Instagram and uploaded her objectionable photo along with her original mobile number, following which a case was registered and investigation was initiated.
The investigation team collected the IP addresses of the alleged Instagram profiles and carried out a detailed analysis of the Internet Protocol Detail Record (IPDR), which led to the mobile number of the accused.
Shahdara Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Meena said that on May 19, with the help of technical surveillance and specific inputs, Amandeep was arrested from his native village near Kapurthala in Punjab.
