New Delhi, May 14 (). A wanted criminal involved in more than two dozen dacoity cases has been finally arrested by the Delhi Police. An official gave this information on Sunday.
South Delhi DCP Chandan Chowdhary said that the accused has been identified as Vivek alias Bittu. A button-operated knife has been recovered from the possession of the accused.
The DCP said that in order to curb the incidents of dacoity and snatching, local sources, human intelligence were deployed to alert the South district and get clues about the criminals. Patrolling in sensitive areas was intensified by the team.
On Saturday, when the police were checking vehicles at Barapula picket, they were informed that one of the accused was coming to Barapula from Dhobi Ghat.
The officer said that a trap was laid to nab the accused. On seeing the police, the accused tried to run away, but after chasing for some time, the police caught him. The accused has been found involved in two dozen cases.
