The film is nominated in the Best TV Movie / Mini-Series category, while Diljit Dosanjh, who plays the lead role, has been recognized in the Best Performance by an Actor category. Diljit expressed his gratitude on Instagram, crediting the director Imtiaz Ali for the achievement, stating, ‘It’s all because of @imtiazaliofficial sir’ and tagging Netflix India. Imtiaz Ali shared his pride regarding the nominations in an interview with NDTV, saying, ‘I would like to congratulate the entire team of Chamkila, and also the people of Punjab, who contributed to this film.
It is very much a film of that land. I congratulate Diljit Dosanjh twice over.’ He highlighted that the story of Chamkila and Amarjot reflects the essence of Punjab and praised Diljit for his dedication to the role. Parineeti Chopra, who co-stars with Diljit, also celebrated the nominations, expressing her pride in her team through a post on Instagram Stories, where she tagged both Diljit and Imtiaz. This recognition marks a significant milestone for Amar Singh Chamkila and Indian storytelling, as it stands as the only Indian entry in this year’s Emmy nominations, underscoring the growing global impact of Indian cinema.
The winners will be announced at the 53rd International Emmy Awards gala on November 24, 2025, in New York City.
