New Delhi, May 6 (). The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Raipur mayor’s brother Anwar Dhebar in a money laundering case in Chhattisgarh. Officials gave this information on Saturday.
Mayor Ejaz Dhebar was also called for questioning.
ED is conducting raids at many places in the state.
The ED officials arrested Anwar from a private hotel on VIP Road last night, the source said. We called Mayor Ejaz Dhebar for inquiry in the matter. Ejaz Dhebar has reached our office.
Earlier, ED had called Anwar Dhebar for questioning. After getting some evidence, the ED arrested Dhebar from the spot under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Remand was demanded by presenting him in Raipur court on Saturday. Presently the hearing is going on and CRPF personnel are present in the court premises.
