ED Launches Raids Across Multiple Cities Linked to Al-Falah University Probe

The ongoing investigation has revealed inconsistencies in the university’s recognition by the UGC and NAAC. Sources informed ANI that the central agency is conducting raids at 25 locations across the NCR starting from 5 a.m. as part of the inquiry into the Al-Falah University terror case, which has seen a significant escalation in activities recently. The agency’s primary focus is on nine shell companies closely associated with the group, all sharing the same address. Investigators are also tracing financial trails. A white-collar terror module involving medical professionals and others linked to the university is under scrutiny, with crucial evidence seized, including a vehicle that contained explosive materials. Authorities have also recovered a substantial amount of explosives from the site.

The university has faced increasing scrutiny following ED raids related to a 25-year-old fraud case involving the chancellor’s brother in Hyderabad. The institution has been under investigation since several doctors were arrested for a high-intensity blast on November 10 in the national capital that resulted in 13 fatalities. The main suspect, Umar Un Nabi, is a former student of Al-Falah University. The ED’s investigation in Delhi NCR described the blast as an “attack on the country’s integrity” and emphasized the university’s role as a “responsible educational institution” committed to national development.

It stated, “We strictly abide by all the principles that support nation-building, and any actions contrary to these principles are unacceptable.” The ED has also issued two summons to the university’s chancellor to address discrepancies related to the institute’s operations and the involvement of specific individuals.
