The source said Sisodia was only using WhatsApp, while Sharma was using a regular cell phone number.
This SIM was inserted in another cell phone, which was in Sharma’s possession, the source said. Sharma may have later shared the OTP (one time password) with Sisodia, so that he could use it as his WhatsApp number. The OTP was used multiple times to reinstall WhatsApp on Sisodia’s cell phone. It began on July 23, the day the Delhi L-G requested the CBI to look into the liquor case.
The source said that this raises questions as to why Sisodia would use his PA’s SIM card to create a WhatsApp account.
Sisodia remained evasive during questioning about the use of someone else’s cell phone number to create a WhatsApp account.
Sisodia is currently behind bars. He had recently withdrawn his bail application.
The ED has so far filed four chargesheets in the case – one main chargesheet and three supplementary chargesheets.
The ED’s case is based on an FIR (First Information Report) lodged by the CBI. The anti-money laundering agency is further probing the matter and is expected to file another charge sheet.
