Chandigarh: On Wednesday, Faridkot was noted as the coldest location in Punjab, with a minimum temperature of 6.5 degrees Celsius. The Met department reported that Bathinda had a chilly night with a temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius, while Gurdaspur recorded 8 degrees Celsius. Amritsar saw a minimum of 9.1 degrees, Ludhiana 9.4 degrees, Patiala 9.5 degrees, and Ferozepur 8.7 degrees Celsius. In Haryana, Narnaul was the coldest at 6.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Hisar at 7.5 degrees Celsius. Gurugram recorded a low of 11.1 degrees Celsius, while Karnal and Bhiwani both noted 9 degrees, Rohtak 9.4 degrees, Ambala 11.7 degrees, and Sirsa recorded a minimum of 10.2 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh, serving as the joint capital of the two states, registered a low of 9.8 degrees Celsius. Rajasthan continued to endure cold weather on Wednesday, with minimum temperatures across the state ranging between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius, which is 3-4 degrees below normal, according to the Meteorological Office. The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur noted that the weather remained dry over the previous 24 hours, with Sikar district recording the lowest minimum temperature at 5.5 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal. The only hill station in the state, Mount Abu, recorded a temperature close to freezing. There was no significant change in maximum or minimum temperatures in the state during the last 24 hours.
