In Morena, Madhya Pradesh, three farmers sustained injuries following a clash between two groups at a fertiliser distribution centre on Monday, as reported by an official. The incident took place at the distribution centre located within the city grain market, where farmers had been waiting in line since early morning. Eyewitness accounts indicate that after the counter opened around 9:30 am, a scuffle ensued as some farmers attempted to re-enter the queue, which escalated into a confrontation between two groups wielding sticks. As a result, three farmers were injured, with one, Ajay Tomar, requiring hospitalization, while the other two were treated and discharged. Bhupendra Singh Kushwaha, the area sub-divisional magistrate, stated, “Fertiliser stocks were sufficient.
Despite having enough supply, the farmers are causing disturbances. We will investigate why they arrived at the centre with sticks.” The police intervened to restore order, and legal measures are being pursued against both factions. Injured farmer Ajay Tomar explained, “We were pushed out of the queue during the rush. When we tried to get back in line, those behind us objected, leading to the fight.” A video capturing the incident has also emerged on social media.
