Patna, March 29 (). An assistant teacher in Bihar’s Khagaria district has been living in Gujarat and drawing salary for five months. An official of the Education Department gave this information on Tuesday.
The incident came to light when Block Education Officer Ram Uday Mahato went to the Government Primary School located in Ward No. 4 and found teacher Seema Kumari absent for a few months. She was posted on deputation in this school.
Mahto said, when we inquired with the department, it appeared that the department is releasing the monthly salary based on the attendance shown by the headmaster of his parent middle school in Bhadas village.
The primary school was sending absentee reports to his parent school in Bhadas village. Vikas Kumar, the headmaster of the school, converted his absence into presence. Based on his attendance, the department was releasing his salary from September 2022.
He said, we have sent the report to the District Education Officer with the recommendation to stop the salary of Seema Kumari and Vikas Kumar. The department has done this.
Sources have said that more than 400 teachers are on the radar of the education department for not going to work in school for a single day and taking salary by adopting deputation gimmick.
