In New Delhi, five individuals, including the suspected leader of a nationwide digital scam operation, have been apprehended for defrauding a woman in Delhi of approximately Rs 20 lakh, according to an official statement made on Monday. The case emerged after the woman filed a complaint stating that she received a call from one of the suspects, who impersonated a deputy commissioner of the Mumbai Police. The complainant reported that the caller informed her that her Aadhar card was linked to criminal activities. During a video call, the accused pressured her into transferring Rs 90,000. Subsequently, they allegedly secured a personal loan in her name and redirected the funds to their own accounts.
Authorities executed a raid in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, leading to the arrest of the five suspects.
