Jaisalmer. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reached Jaisalmer on Friday to attend the 55th GST Council meeting to be held in Jaisalmer, where Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari warmly welcomed the Union Minister on behalf of the Rajasthan government. Along with this, Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, Finance Ministers and Finance Secretaries of different states of the country also reached Jaisalmer. Everyone reached Marriott Resort with a security cover, where everyone was welcomed.
It is worth noting that the 55th GST Council meeting is going to be held in Jaisalmer on 21 December, Saturday. People reached Jaisalmer on Friday for this meeting. Today, on Friday, a pre-meeting will be organized in Marriott Hotel regarding the next Union Budget. After this, the main meeting of the GST Council will be organized on Saturday. Ministers and officials from different states of the country have reached Jaisalmer for this meeting.

The state’s Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, who arrived to attend the 55th meeting of the GST Council, was welcomed by district officials and BJP leaders at the Jaisalmer airport. During this, District Collector Pratap Singh, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary, Jaisalmer MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati, BJP leaders Vikram Singh Nachana, Manohar Singh Damodara, Sawai Singh Gogli, Arun Purohit, Hukmaram Kumawat etc. were present.
Ministers and officials reached Jaisalmer by different flights to attend the GST Council meeting
There was a lot of hustle and bustle at Jaisalmer Civil Airport since Friday morning. Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers and Finance Ministers of many states reached Jaisalmer Airport by special flights from Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai since morning.
Mainly Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister CM Diya Kumari, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached Jaisalmer.
Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was welcomed by Rajasthan Deputy CM Diya Kumari at the civil airport. During this time, many officers and security personnel including MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati, Collector Pratap Singh, SP Sudhir Chaudhary were present.
Tight security arrangements in Jaisalmer city
Security arrangements have been tightened in Jaisalmer city in view of the arrival of the Union Finance Minister and the state ministers in Jaisalmer. A large number of police forces have been deployed at various intersections etc. Many roads have been diverted so that the traffic system remains smooth. However, due to diversion of roads, the common people are facing a lot of problems at various places. But with the promptness of the police, full efforts are being made to reduce the problems of the common people.
