Chandigarh, May 16 (). The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday arrested former Faridkot MLA Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon on charges of having disproportionate assets.
A bureau spokesperson said a corruption case has been registered against him along with Gursewak Singh and Rajwinder Singh.
He said a check period has been set for five years from April 1, 2017, to assess all movable and immovable properties of Dhillon. During investigation it was found that he created assets disproportionate to his income and purchased properties of other persons in his own name at Mumra village of Sadiq tehsil in Faridkot district.
It was also found that he spent almost 245 per cent of his known sources of income.
A case has been registered against them under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The former MLA will be produced in the court on Wednesday.
