Panaji, May 25 (). Goa Police has arrested two criminals. These criminals had opened fire on the police while trying to house-burglary and were involved in gold chain snatching. An official gave this information on Thursday.
Three bike-borne robbers on Monday tried to barge into a house, robbed a woman and tried to rob a senior citizen in Goa.
In this connection, police teams from Goa were in Meerut and Delhi in Uttar Pradesh. Police arrested both the accused on Thursday and brought them to Goa.
The arrested accused have been identified as Anas Ansari and Sajid Ansari, residents of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. South Delhi Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dhania said that the arrested accused have revealed that their gang is active in several places including Hyderabad, Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.
He further said that these accused were also involved in incidents of chain snatching that took place in Verna police station area and Maina Kotterim police station area. According to media reports, based on inputs, the Goa Police with the help of UP Police and Delhi Police arrested both the accused.
A police officer said two more accused persons are absconding and various teams are conducting search operations in different states to nab them.
