As part of the Google Workspace suite, Vids is broadening its functionalities to offer users intuitive, efficient, and creative video-making tools. Initially available in beta, the AI avatars feature is now fully accessible to Workspace Business or Enterprise Starter users, Google AI Pro or Ultra subscribers, and Workspace for Education users. This feature enables users to simply input a script, select from various voices and personas, and create videos using AI avatars. In addition to avatars, Vids has introduced editing tools that automatically identify and eliminate filler words such as ‘um’ or ‘ah’ and lengthy pauses, significantly enhancing the video creation experience.
These improvements are designed to assist users in producing polished, professional content more quickly and with reduced effort. Furthermore, Google Vids now offers image-to-video generation capabilities, allowing users to convert still images into eight-second video segments, a feature that was initially launched for Veo 3 in July. Google has also revealed plans for further enhancements, including noise cancellation, background effects akin to those in Google Meet, and adaptable video sizing options like portrait, landscape, and square formats, although specific release dates remain undisclosed.
