The Allahabad High Court has put a stop to an investigation concerning 558 aided madrassas in Uttar Pradesh that was being carried out by the Economic Offences Wing. This investigation was focused on alleged human rights violations and was initiated following directives from the National Human Rights Commission, which stemmed from a complaint lodged by an individual named Mohammad Talha Ansari against these madrassas. A petition was submitted to the high court contesting both the NHRC’s directives and the inquiry, asking for the annulment of the NHRC orders issued on February 28, April 23, and June 11. Additionally, the petition sought to invalidate a related government order from April 23 that called for the inquiry.
