Mumbai, October 5, 2025 – Hiren Adhikari, a trailblazer in Indian television thrillers, makes a significant return with ‘Weekend Club’, a cyber crime web series aimed at Gen-Z. This six-episode thriller, with each episode approximately 30 minutes long, is now available on Hungama OTT. The series’ trailer and teaser were unveiled in Mumbai by Mr. Yashasvi Yadav, Additional Director General of Police for the Maharashtra Cyber Department, coinciding with the onset of Cyber Crime Awareness Month. Mr. Yadav noted, “India experienced substantial losses of ₹22,845.73 crores due to cyber crimes in 2024, a drastic increase from ₹7,465 crores in 2023—marking a 206% rise. As digital growth accelerates, incidents of financial scams, digital arrests, sextortion, and AI-driven attacks are surging. I hope this series elevates public understanding of cyber crimes.” Producer Kiran Lanjewar highlighted that the series intends to showcase the cyber threats confronting both Gen Z and the general population. “To effectively raise awareness, we developed ‘Weekend Club’, filmed in Surat, Mumbai, and Lonavala, adhering to high production quality standards,” he stated.
