During February, the maximum temperature in many cities of the state was 2-3 degree Celsius. Officials of the Meteorological Department say that this time the La Nino to El Nino condition in the western Pacific Ocean is being considered as a global factor behind the scorching heat.

Its maximum impact will be in Bikaner district as well as Jodhpur division (Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer and Nagaur). There is no hope of relief even in the night.

According to meteorologists, the month of December 2022 and the months of January and February this year were below normal. In January, severe cold was felt in Rajasthan for a few days when the temperature was recorded in minus.

However, the temperature remained above normal in December. That is, the period of winter was short. There was no rain even in December. This time in February also, the normal day temperature in most of the cities of the state was 2 to 3 degree Celsius or more.

The average day maximum temperature recorded in February was 24.86°C, which was 3.40°C higher in North-West India (Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh). Earlier in 1960, this temperature had reached 24.55 degrees in February.
