Hyundai Motor India and Union Finalize Wage Agreement for 2024-2027

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) and the United Union of Hyundai Employees (UUHE) have successfully concluded and signed a wage settlement agreement that will be effective from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2027. This long-term wage settlement establishes a new standard in the automotive sector. The revised comprehensive compensation package includes a significant salary increase of INR 31,000 per month, distributed over three years at a ratio of 55%, 25%, and 20%. Alongside this salary increase, HMIL continues to excel in employee welfare, offering top-tier health coverage and advanced wellness initiatives. Youngmyung Park, Function Head – People Strategy at HMIL, remarked, “At Hyundai, our people are the cornerstone of our success.

This agreement, built on mutual trust, respect, and constructive dialogue, reflects our shared commitment to fostering a progressive workplace culture that prioritizes employee welfare and supports long-term organizational growth.” Established in 2011, the United Union of Hyundai Employees (UUHE) is the recognized representative body for HMIL’s workforce. As of August 31, 2025, UUHE represents 1,981 members, which is 90% of the technician and workmen cadre, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to advocating for employee rights and engaging constructively with management.
