Varanasi, April 1 (). The faculty of IIT Madras has taken the initiative to teach the children of Prime Minister Modi’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi. In this regard, an agreement has been signed between IIT Madras and Basic Education Office regarding Project Vidya Shakti, in which the teachers of IIT Madras will teach online in the Government Smart School of Varanasi.
Online classes will start in 100 schools of Varanasi as a pilot project. Under this project, children will be taught maths, science and English subjects, which will also provide employment to 100 people.
Basic Education Officer Arvind Pathak told that a contract has been signed with IIT Madras, in which the teachers of IIT will teach classes 6 to 8 to the students of government schools of Varanasi. All classes will run online after school hours.
BSA informed that online classes will start soon in 100 schools as a pilot project in Varanasi. There are 70 smart classes in selected schools of Varanasi. 30 schools will soon be made smart through IIT Madras. IIT Madras will have a coordinator for technical support in each school for Project Vidya Shakti, who will be local. This will also provide employment to 100 people. Its cost will be borne by IIT Madras.
