Muzaffarnagar, May 3 (). In Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district, in a joint raid by Police Station Charthawal and SOG, a factory manufacturing illegal weapons has been busted. The police raided and arrested six accused and recovered a large quantity of manufactured, semi-manufactured illegal weapons and equipment for making illegal weapons from their possession.
The Muzaffarnagar Police has launched a campaign to nab miscreants in view of the upcoming municipal elections. The police team recovered 27 country-made pistols (315 bore), 21 half-made pistols (315 bore), one pistol (12 bore), 62 half-made pistols (12 bore), two country-made guns (315 bore) from the six accused arrested during the raid on Tuesday. Bore), nine live cartridges and 37 hollow cartridges, two bikes and material used in making illegal weapons have been recovered.

The accused have been identified as Iqbal, Gopal, Subhash, Irfan, Gopal Singh and Jaipal.
City Superintendent of Police Satyanarayan Prajapat said, Charthawal police station had received a tip-off regarding the manufacture and supply of weapons. Acting on inputs, six accused involved in manufacture and supply of arms have been arrested inside a closed brick kiln on Khusropur road under Charthawal police station.
The ASP said that the accused have confessed to the crime during interrogation. They used to supply illegal weapons by changing places.
