Apple is currently testing the largest battery ever designed for an iPhone, specifically for the iPhone Fold. Recent leaks from Eyes1122 reveal intriguing details regarding the battery capacity under evaluation. It is reported that the battery is being tested with a capacity between 5400 and 8000 mAh, which is higher than that of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone Air initially had a maximum battery capacity of 3000 mAh, but the final version reached 3149 mAh. It is anticipated that the iPhone Fold could achieve or even exceed a substantial 6000 mAh. The iPhone 17 Pro Max currently holds the record for the largest iPhone battery, though its eSIM-only variant slightly surpasses the 5500 mAh mark.
At this stage, it remains uncertain whether the battery life of the Apple foldable will match or exceed that of the 17 Pro Max. Additionally, there are rumors suggesting that Apple intends to equip the iPhone 18 Pro Max with an even larger battery than its predecessor. Given the previous concerns over the iPhone Air’s battery life, it is likely that Apple is committed to ensuring that the iPhone Fold offers exceptional endurance comparable to other Pro models. For a device priced over $2000, extraordinary battery performance is essential.
