The excitement surrounding the IPL 2026 Mini Auction is building. Scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on December 15 or 16, this auction follows previous events in Dubai (2023) and Jeddah (2024). There are strong indications that Sanju Samson might be departing from Rajasthan Royals, with potential trade talks involving a transfer to CSK. In exchange, Rajasthan Royals could receive Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. The IPL trade rules are straightforward: the trade window opens one month post-season and closes a week prior to the auction. Trade types include player-for-cash and player-for-player. To initiate a trade, the buying team submits an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the BCCI, which the selling team must respond to within 48 hours.

The player involved must consent and sign a form. If a new team presents a higher offer, the additional funds are divided between the player and the selling team. Teams can trade any number of players, but traded players must be fit to play. The BCCI retains the authority to nullify a trade if any issues arise.
