IPL 2026 Player Retentions and Auction Details Revealed

IPL teams have disclosed their retained players for the upcoming 2026 season, with a total of 173 players remaining in their squads. Among these, 49 are overseas players. Teams will have a combined purse of ₹237.55 crore for the auction, which will feature 77 available slots. The auction is scheduled for 16 December in Abu Dhabi. Notably, KKR holds the largest purse at ₹64.3 crore, followed by CSK with ₹43.4 crore. PBKS retained the highest number of players with 21, while MI and GT each kept 20 players.

A brief squad summary shows CSK with 16 players, DC with 17, GT with 20, KKR with 12, LSG with 19, MI with 20, PBKS with 21, RCB with 17, RR with 16, and SRH with 15 players. The retained players include prominent names such as MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Virat Kohli, among others, with each team retaining key players and a mix of overseas talent.
