In a memorandum presented to the chief minister, she demanded immediate registration of an FIR, the suspension and arrest of the accused mentioned in her husband’s note, and lifelong security for her family due to the involvement of influential officials. She expressed distress that, despite a detailed suicide note and her formal complaint, no FIR has been filed. The note reportedly names individuals responsible for creating a hostile work environment that led to her husband’s tragic decision. Amneet Kumar also raised concerns about potential retaliation from powerful officials implicated in the case, stating that more than 48 hours had passed without any action from the Chandigarh Police.

The body of Y Puran Kumar, aged 52 and a 2001-batch IPS officer, was discovered with a gunshot wound in his home. His suicide note allegedly details years of mental harassment from senior officers. Amneet Kumar has called for legal action against Haryana’s DGP Shatrujeet Kapur and another senior officer under relevant laws, but attempts to reach these officers for comment were unsuccessful. In her memorandum, she praised her husband as a distinguished officer who served honorably and received the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service, emphasizing his integrity and dedication to duty.
