Jammu, April 28 (). Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed for traffic due to landslide. Officials gave this information on Friday.
J&K Traffic Police said, Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed due to landslide at Shalgari in Banihal.
The traffic police said that the work of cleaning the road is going on. On Thursday too, the highway was blocked for several hours due to landslides.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is the lifeline of the Kashmir Valley and the main road connecting Kashmir to the rest of the country.
As per reports, trucks going to Kashmir carrying essential commodities and other vehicles pass through this highway and trucks carrying fruits from Kashmir to the rest of the country go through this route.
