Reliance Jio has launched a new safety-oriented feature for its Bharat phones, aimed at providing families with enhanced security and peace of mind. Announced during the India Mobile Congress 2025 (IMC 2025), the Bharat phone is specifically designed with safety in mind. Additionally, Jio has introduced the Jio AI Classroom, an AI-ready program to promote artificial intelligence education across India. The Bharat phone is particularly suitable for older users and women, featuring location tracking, usage management controls, and an impressive battery life of up to 7 days on a single charge. Priced starting at just Rs. 799, these devices are available at Jio Stores, JioMart, Amazon, Swiggy Instamart, and various retail outlets across India.
Jio aims to enhance digital accessibility for families, allowing parents to keep their children securely connected while limiting their exposure to social media and unknown contacts. The real-time location-sharing feature enables users to stay in touch and ensure the safety of their loved ones. Women also benefit from the enhanced security features of these devices, which include call control and location tracking for added protection. In conjunction with the new smartphones, Jio has unveiled its AI initiatives, including an affordable foundational course powered by JioPC, developed with Jio Institute. This program is targeted at beginners and offers students hands-on experience with popular AI tools while learning the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI).
The course includes interactive, video-based lessons that explore AI applications in real-world scenarios, along with innovative projects. Students engage in practical assignments and work on an AI-driven Capstone Project to apply their knowledge.
