In a recent update on the tragic case of a school teacher who set herself and her three-year-old daughter ablaze, police reported on Thursday that a note was discovered in which she made serious allegations of harassment against her in-laws. On August 22, 32-year-old Sanju Bishnoi ignited petrol poured over both her and her daughter while sitting at home. After they caught fire, they fell to the floor. At the time, her husband, Dilip Bishnoi, was not present. Neighbors, noticing smoke from the residence, alerted the woman’s father, who rushed to the scene and found his daughter ablaze.
The child died immediately, while the mother succumbed to her injuries at the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur on Saturday, according to ACP of Mandore Nagendra Kumar. Following this, the woman’s father filed a police report on Sunday, asserting that she had been subjected to dowry harassment. Consequently, an FIR was filed against her husband, in-laws, and sister-in-law. The victim’s family further alleged that her in-laws played a role in abetting the suicide.
