Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 was released in Karnataka on October 2 and earned over ₹20 crore on its first day. Within just four days of its release, the film amassed nearly ₹79 crore, marking the largest opening ever recorded in Karnataka. Previously, KGF Chapter 2 had earned ₹73.5 crore in the same timeframe. Kantara Chapter 1 has now surpassed that record, becoming the highest opening film in the state. By the sixth day, it is anticipated that the film will exceed ₹100 crore. Only three films have reached this milestone before: Baahubali 2, KGF 2, and Kantara Chapter 1.
If the audience continues to grow, the film could potentially surpass ₹200 crore, breaking its own record of ₹183.60 crore, although its success will depend on viewer turnout in the coming weeks.
