Thiruvananthapuram, May 26 (). The body of a 58-year-old hotelier, who went missing on May 18 from Attappady in Kerala’s Kozhikode district, was recovered from two trolley bags on Friday. According to reports, the incident was carried out by a 22-year-old youth and his 18-year-old female friend.
Hotel owner Siddiq went missing from the hotel on 18th of this month.
The hotelier was last seen at a lodge about six kilometers away from his hotel on the day he went missing.
Police suspect that the crime was committed by Shibli and her friend Farhana in the hotel room. Both had worked at Siddiq’s hotel for about three weeks.
After she went missing, a missing report was filed and the police traced two suspects from Chennai. He was taken into custody by the Chennai Police.
The police took one accused into custody on the basis of interrogation.
On Friday morning, the investigation team accompanied him to Attapadi and recovered two trolley bags, which were left on the road before the two accused left.
The fire brigade took out the mutilated body from the bag.
Siddiq’s son, who arrived from the Middle East after his disappearance, told that after the 18th of this month, a huge amount was withdrawn from his father’s account.
Shibli and Farhana are currently in the custody of the Chennai Railway Police and will be brought here soon, said a top police official in Malappuram. Prima facie, it appears that the offense was committed on 18th or 19th.
