Chennai, April 15 (). The ruling party DMK in Tamil Nadu has appointed Kovai Selvaraj as the deputy secretary of the party’s media affairs wing.
Selvaraj, who joined the AIADMK after being expelled from the Congress in 2015, joined the DMK in December 2022. The notification of Selvaraj’s appointment as deputy secretary of the party was published in Saturday’s edition of Murasoli, the party mouthpiece.
Senior DMK leader and organizing secretary S Duraimurugan, who appointed Selvaraj to the post, said he has been appointed under rules 18 and 19 of the party bye-laws.
It is to be noted that Selvaraj was also a former MLA and Coimbatore district secretary of the AIADMK and a strong supporter of former chief minister O Panneerselvam (OPS).
Interestingly, he was expelled from the Congress in 2015 for his critical remarks against the Congress alliance with the DMK.
